RITA LEÇA
Rita Leça, a Portuguese artist based in Lisbon, presents a body of work deeply rooted in abstraction and the exploration of chromatic interactions. Her artistic practice is a continuous investigation into the dialogue and tension between colors, crafting compositions that resonate between harmony and contrast.
The In Between series embodies this inquiry, guiding the viewer into an ambiguous space where the boundaries between opposites blur. In six acrylic works on paper, Rita delves into the dualities of human experience: city and nature, instinct and reason, the spoken and the unspoken.
Having begun her artistic journey in Buenos Aires under the mentorship of painter Mariano Zir, and further developing her craft in Portugal through studies at Ar.Co and collaborations with artists such as António Faria and Rui Tavares, Rita Leça offers a visual universe that challenges viewers to intuit what lies “in between” – a world that is never fully revealed but invites contemplation and introspection.
This series is, above all, an invitation to immerse oneself in transitional spaces and uncover the subtle truths that exist in the intersections of opposites.
